Fairy Nursery Decor

Fairy nursery decor is one of the best ways to decorate your baby's room.

This theme has always been a staple for decorating children's bedrooms - and now it's possible to kit out your baby girl's room in this style too.

Fairies are obviouslt the main focus, but you can also include other mythical images. Butterflies, ladybirds, fairy flowers, stars, birds, mythical creatures, the sun and moon for example.

Colours are usually pastel yellows, lilacs or lavenders and pale pinks, but don't limit yourself to lighter shades. Some high-contrast visuals work well because they support baby visual development. What about a picture of a fairy in dark purple and silver?

Canvas wall art, paintings, murals, curtains and drapery are great ways to add a fairy
theme to the nursery. Don't forget cushions, stuffed toys, throws, figurines and mobiles to be hung above the crib.

Be careful when adding a rug - if it is something you are going to walk on regularly this could become a trip hazard.

The overall effect of fairy nursery décor should be soft, gentle, welcoming and fantastical.

To get the full effect of this theme, photo frames or other accessories can be embellished by using craft glue and soft pink feathers.

To really go to town with this idea, why not dress family members up as fairies, take a photo and hang the results in pride of place for baby fairy to see?

After all, a newborn's gavourite thing to look at is the human face, preferably her parents' or main carers'.
